THE MIDDLE:: UCLA Short Film
After my three month freelance contract ended for Imaginary Forces, I was hired as a 1st AD for the UCLA thesis short, "The Middle" directed by Manhea (Joey) Kim. He's currently working towards his Graduates degree in film.
I met Joey when I was stationed in Diego Garcia during my Naval career. We hit it off and became good friends. We share a love for film and television, so we both decided to follow our dreams and separate from the Navy.
I had a wonderful time working with Joey on his five day shoot. We shot for two days on UCLA sound stages then moved to a studio in Burbank, CA where we shot for three days on a built stage. It took 4-5 days to build the set on the stage.
This film follows a prisoner being held by a mysterious organization and submitted through several interrogations. This film offers mixed messages, so it definitely leaves you to your thoughts after reading the script.
