"I am a former elementary school teacher that lives in Inglewood, California. I decided to become a studio teacher in August of 2015 after 15 years of classroom teaching. It has been an amazing experience. I’ve had the opportunity to work on some unbelievable projects. I absolutely love being a studio teacher. It gives me the opportunity to help students reach their educational goals and ensure their safety on sets.
The production of ‘Jacks’ was exciting to work on. The young actresses were energetic and extremely talented. It’s always interesting watching a film that is directed by an actor in the film. The fact that this production was helmed by Black women was very empowering."
Our cast included several minors so we were required by SAG and labor laws to hire a Studio Teacher to be on set during filming. We had THE BEST Studio Teacher with us that day. She worked with the girls and kept a close eye on them during production. We were so happy to have such a passionate teacher with us.
Twanda remained very flexible on set as we also had a very pregnant Wardrobe Stylist, Apryl Payton-Gordon, who was working while pregnant with her third child! Our original Hair Stylist couldn't make it because she was feeling too sick as she was also pregnant and not to mention, our little special guest on set, Penelope (the Producer's toddler) who had to come to work with her mommy. As a family friendly crew, she was open minded to two working moms getting the production completed safely and on time.
She didn't just stop supporting on set, she kept it going off set! She contributed to our fundraiser to complete the film!! We are so grateful for you in so many ways! Thanks Twanda! Enjoy some behind the scenes photos of our girls making memories while making a movie!
